FAQ
01
Q: How many guests can you accommodate?
A: Group size is flexible and depends on your venue space. Most private wine tastings work best with 6-20 guests, but I can adapt to smaller intimate gatherings or larger celebrations. Tell me about your space and guest count, and I'll recommend the best format.
02
Q: How long does a private wine tasting last?
A: Most private events run 60-90 minutes, but I'm flexible. Want a quick 45-minute pre-dinner tasting? A leisurely 2-hour wine dinner? Let me know your timeline and I'll make it work.
03
Q: What if my guests have different wine knowledge levels?
A: Perfect! That's exactly who I design for. Whether you have wine newbies or enthusiasts in the group, I make it engaging for everyone. I read the room and adjust - no one gets talked down to, and no one gets lost in jargon.
04
Q: Can you help me pair wines with my dinner menu?
A: Absolutely! If you're hosting a dinner party, share your menu and I'll curate wines that complement each course. I can either do a seated wine pairing dinner working with your chef or mine, or a pre-dinner tasting - whatever fits your celebration best.
05
Q: What do I need to provide?
A: Just table space for wines and glasses, and comfortable seating for your guests. Due to Arizona liquor laws, you'll purchase the wines from my curated shopping list (I tell you exactly what to buy and where). I bring tasting materials, presentation setup, and handle all cleanup.
06
Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: I recommend 2-4 weeks for private events. This gives you time to purchase the curated wines and ensures I have availability. Smaller, simpler events can sometimes be accommodated with less notice - just reach out and I'll check my schedule.
07
Q: What's included in your pricing?
A: Your event fee includes my sommelier expertise, custom wine curation, tasting materials, presentation, setup and cleanup, and up to 90 minutes of instruction. Wine cost is separate (you purchase based on my shopping list). I'll provide a clear, custom quote for your specific event.
08
Q: What's your cancellation policy?
A: Life happens! Cancellations made 2+ weeks before your event receive a full refund. Cancellations within 2 weeks may forfeit the deposit. We can also reschedule if you need to change dates. I'll include full details in your event agreement.
09
Q: What if some guests don't drink alcohol?
A: No problem at all! Non-drinkers can participate in smelling and learning about the wines, or I provide non-alcoholic alternatives like sparkling cider or N/A wine. Everyone's included and has a great time.
10
Q: Can we choose specific wines we taste?
A: We'll collaborate! Tell me your preferences (love reds? Curious about Italian wines? Have a budget in mind?) and I'll design the tasting around what excites you. If you have specific bottles you want to include, we can work those in too.
11
Q: Can you do outdoor events?
A: Yes, during October-May. Backyard parties, patios, pool areas - as long as there's shade and table space, I can make it work. I'll just need to plan around weather and lighting.
12
Q: What is your service area?
A: I serve the Phoenix metro area. Events in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Carefree, North Phoenix and Tempe are included in standard pricing. For locations requiring significant travel (Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, etc.), a travel fee may apply. Let's chat about your location.
